What kind of mill is suitable for grinding calcite?

What is calcite?

  

Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral, the main component is CaCO3, generally transparent and colorless or white, sometimes containing variegated colors. Its theoretical chemical composition is: CaO: 56.03%, CO2: 43.97%, often replaced by MgO, FeO, MnO and other similar substances. Mohs hardness is 3, density is 2.6-2.94, with glass luster. China's calcite is mainly distributed in Guangxi, Jiangxi, and Hunan. Guangxi calcite is famous in the domestic market for its high whiteness and low acid insoluble matter. Calcite is also found in the northeastern part of North China, but it is often accompanied by dolomite. The whiteness is generally below 94 and the acid-insoluble matter is too high.

 

Uses of calcite

1. Within 200 mesh:

It can be used as a variety of feed additives, with a calcium content of more than 55.6% and no harmful ingredients.

 

2. 250 mesh to 300 mesh:

Used as raw material for plastic factory, rubber factory, paint factory, waterproof material factory and interior and exterior wall painting. The whiteness is above 85 degrees.

 

3. 350 mesh to 400 mesh:

Used in the manufacture of gussets, drain pipes, and chemicals. The whiteness is above 93 degrees.

 

4. 400 mesh to 600 mesh:

It can be used for toothpaste and soap. Whiteness above 94 degrees

 

5. 800 mesh:

Used for rubber, plastics, cables, and pvc with whiteness above 94 degrees.

 

6. Above 1250 mesh

PVC, PE, paint, coating grade products, papermaking primer, papermaking surface coating, whiteness above 95 degrees. It has high purity, high whiteness, non-toxic, odorless, low oil quality and low hardness.


Calcite powder production process

Calcite powder processing is generally divided into calcite fine powder processing (20 mesh-400 mesh), calcite ultrafine powder deep processing (400 mesh-1250 mesh) and micro powder processing (1250 mesh-3250 mesh)

1.  Crush the raw materials

The large calcite material is crushed by the crusher to the fineness (15mm-50mm) that can enter the mill.

 

2. Milling

The crushed calcite pieces are sent to the storage hopper by the elevator, and then sent to the grinding chamber of the mill evenly and quantitatively by the feeder for grinding.

 

3. Classification

The ground material is classified by the classification system, and the unqualified powder is classified by the classifier and returned to the main engine for re-grinding.

 

4. Collect finished products

The powder that meets the fineness is separated and collected in the dust collector through the pipeline through the airflow. The collected finished powder is sent to the finished product silo by the conveying device through the discharge port, and then is packaged by a powder tanker or an automatic baler.
