What is bauxite

Bauxite refers to the general name of the ore that can be used in industry and is composed of gibbsite, boehmite or diaspore as the main mineral. Bauxite is generally deposited in sea basins and lake basins, and can also be produced in the weathering crust of basalt or other rocks. Bauxite ore is also associated with a variety of useful elements such as gallium, vanadium, lithium, rare earth metals, niobium, tantalum, titanium, scandium, etc., and its application value is very high.

Uses of bauxite

Bauxite is an excellent raw material for the production of metallic aluminum, and it is also the main application field of bauxite.

1. Aluminum smelting industry: can be used in national defense, aviation, automobiles, electrical appliances, chemicals, daily necessities, etc.


2. Precision casting: bauxite clinker processed into fine powder can be made into molds and then precision casting, widely used in military, aerospace, communications, instrumentation, machinery and medical equipment sectors.


3. Refractory products: High alumina bauxite clinker has a refractoriness of up to 1780, chemically stable and strong, and good physical properties.


4. Aluminum silicate refractory fiber: bauxite has the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, small heat capacity and mechanical vibration resistance. Used in steel, non-ferrous metallurgy, electronics, petroleum, chemical industry, aerospace, atomic energy, national defense and other industries.


5. Using magnesia and bauxite clinker as raw materials, adding appropriate binders, it is very effective for pouring steel drums as a whole barrel lining.


6. Bauxite produces bauxite cement, abrasive materials, various compounds that can be used in the ceramic industry and the chemical industry to produce aluminum.

1. Crushing

The large bauxite material is crushed by the crusher to the fineness (15mm-50mm) that can enter the mill.


2. Milling (Raymond mill or vertical grinding mill)

The crushed small bauxite materials are sent to the storage hopper by the elevator, and then sent to the grinding chamber of the mill evenly and quantitatively by the feeder for grinding.

 

3. Classification

The ground material is classified by the classification system, and the unqualified powder is classified by the classifier and returned to the main engine for re-grinding.

 

4. Collection

The powder that meets the fineness is separated and collected by the airflow through the pipe into the dust collector. The collected product powder is sent to the finished product silo by the conveying device through the discharge port, and then is packaged by a powder tanker or an automatic baler.
