What is Calcite?

The calcite is a kind of Calcium carbonate mineral, the main ingredient is CaCO3, It generally appears transparent, colorless or white.

The theoretical chemical composition are :CaO:56.03%,CO2: 43.97%. The Mohs hardness is 3 and density is 2.6-2.94, with glass luster. The domestic calcites are mainly distributed in Guangxi, Jiangxi and Hunan province in China. Guangxi calcite is famous in the domestic market for its high whiteness and low acid insolubles. Calcite will also can be found in the northeastern part of North China, but often accompanied by dolomite. The whiteness is generally below 94, and the acid insoluble matter is too high.

The Application of Calcite:

1Within 200mesh :

It can be used in a variety of feed additives, containing more than 55.6% of calcium and no harmful ingredients.

2250mesh to 300mesh:

It is can be used to the raw materials and paint for interior and exterior walls of plastics factory, rubber factory, paint factory, waterproof material factory. The whiteness is above 85 degrees.

3350mesh to 400mesh:

It can be used to manufacture the buckle plate, downpipe, chemical industry. The whiteness is above 93 degrees.

4400 mesh to 600mesh:

It can be used in toothpaste paste, soap. The whiteness is above 94 degrees.


It can be used in rubber, plastic, cable, pvc. The whiteness is above 94 degrees.


6More than 1250 mesh

It is used in pvc, PE, paint, coating grade products, papermaking primer and paper coating. The whiteness is above 95 degrees. It has the characteristics of high purity, high whiteness, non-toxicity, odorlessness, low oil quality and low hardness.


Technology Process of Grinding Calcite Powder:

Calcite powder is generally divided into calcite fine powder processing (20 mesh - 400 mesh), ultrafine powder deep processing of calcite (400 mesh - 1250 mesh) and micro powder processing (1250 mesh - 3250 mesh)



The First Stage: Crushing of Material

The calcite is crushed by the crusher to the feeeding fineness (15mm-50mm) which can enter the mill.

The Second Stage: Grinding Powder

The crushed calcite pieces are sent to the storage hopper through the hoist, and then uniformly and quantitatively fed into the mill grinding mill through the feeder for grinding.


The Third Stage: Classifying

The material after grinding powder will be classified by classifying system, the unqualified powder is graded by the classifier and returned to the main machine for re-grinding.

The Fourth Stage: The Finished Product Collection

Fine-grained powder is separated and collected as it flows through the pipe into the dust collector. The collected finished powder is sent to the finished silo through the discharge device through the discharge port, and then uniformly packaged by the powder tanker or the automatic baler.
